About Us

New Zealand’s high cost of construction and housing affordability crisis is driving demand for innovative and lower cost construction methods. Modular construction is a genuine solution to this challenge. Modular construction is the fabrication of completed housing modules in factory controlled environment. This method of construction delivers a broad range of advantages over traditional construction including lower cost, improved risk profile, faster delivery time and reduced project complexity. It is the ideal solution for a range of projects including medium and high density residential, commercial, accommodation and those in remote locations. Modular Developments Limited (“MOD Developments”) was established to deliver an end-to-end development management solution for modular projects. MOD Developments has a unique, vertically integrated business model that ensures we have control of the entire project, from the initial concept design right through to the handover of the completed development. We navigate all aspects of a project on behalf of our clients including:

Design and feasibility analysis
Planning and Resource Consent
Module manufacture
Development finance
Builder contracting, construction and module assembly
Development management through to handover

We have worked closely with Ministry of Busines, Innovation and Employment (“MBIE”) and local councils to create an off-shore manufactured building system that fully complies with New Zealand’s challenging building code and standards. Our approach is further strengthened through the overlay provided by a global leader in third party independent quality assurance. This provides confidence that every module has been tested to the same rigorous standards as any traditionally built development prior to leaving the factory.

Tony Front

Manufacturing

With 35+ years NZ Building experience including 15 years designing and contract manufacturing modular buildings. Tony has spent over a decade in China working with different factories and vendors. Tony is regards as Mr Modular.

Phil Macintosh

Sales and Operations

Phil leads the design development of all new projects (internal and external) and is responsible for coordinating all engineering, design, consenting and logistics of the modules.

Ric Kebblewhite

Finance

Ric has 15 years banking and finance experience and specialises in structuring and arranging capital for real estate projects. Ric is responsible for the financing and legal requirements of our Projects.

Damon Kennedy

Funding Advisory

Damon works in an advisory capacity around the unique funding structures for modular projects as well as partner identification for bespoke projects.
